Archiving orders

Amazon does not let you permanently delete order history, but you can archive orders to hide them from your default order view. Archived orders are moved to a separate section and will not appear when someone casually browses your account.

On desktop: Go to Your Orders, find the order, click 'Archive order'. It moves to your Archived Orders section
On mobile: Open the Amazon app, go to Your Orders, tap the order, select 'Archive order'
Archived orders are not deleted - they can still be found in the Archived Orders section
Limit: you can archive up to 500 orders. After that, you need to unarchive some to archive new ones

Quick answer

You cannot permanently delete Amazon order history, but you can archive orders to hide them. Go to Your Orders, find the order, and click 'Archive order'. Archived orders move to a separate section not visible in the default view. You can also delete items from your browsing history and turn off browsing history tracking.

Hiding from browsing history

Beyond order history, Amazon tracks what you have viewed. You can manage this separately to prevent items from appearing in recommendations or being visible to others who use your account.

Browsing history steps0 / 3 checked

Go to Your Browsing History (found under Account or from the homepage carousel)
Remove individual items by clicking 'Remove from view' next to each one
Turn off browsing history entirely via 'Manage history' > toggle off 'Turn Browsing History on/off'

What you cannot delete

Amazon keeps all order records for legal, tax, and warranty purposes. Archiving hides them but does not erase them.

Your order history is linked to your Amazon account, not your device. Deleting the app changes nothing.

Amazon support agents cannot remove orders from your history either. Archiving is the only option.

Privacy tips

Use a separate Amazon account for purchases you want to keep private
Archive orders immediately after delivery to keep your default view clean
Check shared household settings - Amazon Household shares some purchase information between linked accounts
Do not rely on archiving for security - anyone with your password can still find archived orders
