How to Wrap a Parcel
How to package a parcel properly for safe delivery, with step-by-step wrapping tips.
Materials you need
Quick answer
Choose a box or bag that fits your item with room for cushioning, wrap the item in protective material, seal securely with packing tape, and attach a clear address label. The parcel should be strong enough that you could drop it from waist height without the contents being damaged. Use void fill to stop items moving around inside.

Packing fragile items
Place the wrapped item in a small box, then put that box inside a larger one with cushioning between.
There should be at least 5cm of cushioning between the item and every side of the box.
Carriers handle millions of parcels and fragile labels do not guarantee careful handling. Pack as if the label is not there.

Labelling your parcel
Write or print the recipient address clearly in the centre of the parcel. Include your return address in the top left corner. If using a printed label, tape all edges down to prevent peeling. Remove or cover any old labels or barcodes from reused boxes.
