Are they recyclable?

Most do not bend envelopes are recyclable, but it depends on the materials used. All-cardboard and kraft-backed versions are fully recyclable through kerbside collections. Envelopes with plastic windows, plastic coatings, or mixed materials may need components separated before recycling.

All-cardboard versions: fully recyclable through kerbside collections
Kraft-backed envelopes: recyclable, the board and paper are both accepted
Plastic windows must be removed before recycling the paper/card components
Plastic-coated versions: not recyclable through standard collections

Quick answer

All-cardboard do not bend envelopes are fully recyclable. Choose envelopes without plastic windows or coatings for maximum recyclability. Kraft-backed (brown board) versions with paper construction and peel-and-seal closures are the most eco-friendly option. If your envelopes have plastic windows, remove them before placing the envelope in recycling.

Choosing recyclable options
