How to contact eBay

eBay offers several ways to get help, though they have shifted heavily towards online self-service in recent years. The best route depends on the type of issue you have.

Help & Contact page - the starting point for all support queries at ebay.co.uk/help/home
Live chat - available through the Help page for many issue types
Phone support - available but you usually need to request a callback through the Help page first
Resolution Centre - the dedicated tool for disputes about orders, returns, and refunds

Quick answer

Go to ebay.co.uk/help/home and describe your issue. eBay will guide you to the most appropriate support channel, which is usually live chat or a callback request. For order disputes, use the Resolution Centre directly. Social media (@AskeBay on Twitter/X) can also be effective for getting attention on unresolved issues.

Live chat and phone support

eBay's live chat is accessible through the Help & Contact page. Describe your issue and eBay will offer relevant help articles. If those do not resolve your problem, a 'Contact us' option appears with live chat or callback.

Phone support is not directly accessible by calling a number. You request a callback through the Help page, and an eBay agent calls you. This ensures they have your account details and issue context before the call.

Help pages and Resolution Centre

Many issues can be resolved without contacting a human agent. eBay's help pages cover topics like returns, refunds, account issues, and selling problems. The Resolution Centre is specifically designed for opening and managing disputes about orders.

If an item has not arrived, arrived damaged, or is not as described, open a case in the Resolution Centre.

eBay's automated tools can often process returns, refunds, and cancellations faster than waiting for an agent.

Most refunds can be processed entirely through the website or app without speaking to anyone.

Social media support

eBay has an active support presence on Twitter/X (@AskeBay). Sending a public tweet or DM can sometimes get faster attention on issues that are stuck in the normal support queue. Be careful not to share account details publicly.
