How does postage work on Vinted?

Vinted has a built-in shipping system. When a buyer purchases your item, Vinted generates a prepaid shipping label. You print or show the label, pack the item, and drop it off at the designated carrier location.

Prepaid labels - Vinted generates the shipping label automatically when an item sells
Built-in tracking - both buyer and seller can track the parcel through the app
Buyer protection - using Vinted's shipping means both parties are covered
You must ship within 5 days of the sale or the order may be cancelled

Quick answer

The buyer pays for postage on Vinted. When an item sells, Vinted generates a prepaid shipping label. The seller packs the item, prints or shows the label, and drops it off at the carrier location (InPost, Evri ParcelShop, etc.). Both parties can track the parcel through the app.

Who pays for postage on Vinted?

The buyer pays - shipping cost is added on top of the item price at checkout
Sellers can offer custom shipping if they prefer to arrange their own postage, but Vinted's built-in system is recommended for buyer protection

The shipping cost the buyer sees depends on the package size you set when listing the item. Make sure you choose the correct size to avoid issues.

Shipping options available

Vinted UK offers several carrier options depending on parcel size.

Available carriers 0 / 4 checked

InPost - drop off at lockers or ParcelShops, popular for small to medium items
Evri - drop off at ParcelShops or arrange home collection
Royal Mail - available for some package sizes, drop off at Post Office
DPD - available for larger items in some cases

The available options depend on the package size you select. Smaller items have more carrier choices.

How to send your Vinted parcel

Use a mailing bag, padded envelope, or box appropriate to the item size. Make sure it's clean and well-protected. You provide the packaging - Vinted doesn't supply it.

Go to the sold item in your Vinted messages. Tap "Ship now" to see your shipping label and QR code. You can print the label or use the QR code at the drop-off point.

Take the parcel to the specified drop-off point. Scan the QR code or hand over the printed label. Get your receipt and keep it until the buyer confirms receipt.

Track the delivery through Vinted. Once the buyer confirms everything is OK (or 2 days pass without a dispute), your payment is released to your Vinted wallet.

Packaging tips for Vinted sellers

Use paper mailing bags for clothing - they're lightweight (keeps costs down), recyclable, and look professional. Avoid carrier bags as they look unprofessional.
Use bubble mailers for fragile items - shoes, accessories, and anything breakable should have extra protection to avoid transit damage disputes.
